National Arts Festival 2023
Prins returns to the National Arts Festival in Makhanda for the first time since his performances as the Standard Bank Young Artist for Music in 2019. In a solo recital titled "(Re)visions - Megan-Geoffrey Prins in concert" Prins hopes to subvert art music hierarchies that place history above contemporary, global above local. While the program reflects on the canons of the past through the work of Ravel, it places equal value on the rebirth of art music through the works of international contemporary and local young composers. Performances take place between 24-25 June and more information is available through the NAF website.
